Humbled

“Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.” I Peter 5:6-7 (NASB) 

Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God. . . This is becoming more real to me everyday.  I am continually humbled by those who have decided to partner with us in fulfilling God’s calling upon our lives. Not just financial support, but prayer as well.  Some are long time friends, youth, college students, friends of friends, or families struggling with life changing difficulties and challenges; each brings to mind a memory, a story, a tear.  Words of thanks and gratitude seem so insignificant.  It’s a gift we  will never be able to repay. 

Humility is hard.  

BTW – it’s great that we have such an awesome God that cares so much about us!

What A Great Team!

We recently had the opportunity to lead a team to Haiti. It was such a blessing to share with them a glimpse of the country to which God has called us to minister.  It was truly an honor to serve alongside such a great group of individuals. . . and who knows. . . maybe future partners and missionaries overseas :)

 

 

Great place, great people, great time, but even a greater God!

The Adventure Begins!

Someone once said that, “God doesn't call the equipped, He equips the called!” Well we have been called and we are trusting God to do the equipping! 

Since we made the decision to walk through doors that God had opened, we have been busy!  Busy with praying, busy with getting our prayer cards printed, newsletter written, folding and stuffing envelopes, sealing and stamping. . . did I mention praying!  It’s been a bit overwhelming, but we are thankful to have four boys who were eager to help.  I’ve never imagined how much time this would take.

At this point, we have just begun our adventure.  At times we are so excited we can’t wait!  At other times we think we must be crazy. It’s overwhelming to think about how many things need to be done and purchased.   We can only imagine what the prophets of old or the disciples must have felt when God called them to go.  We don’t have a date set yet, but Lord willing, it will be sooner, rather than later. . . it’s in God’s hands and His timing. 

A few weeks ago we had the opportunity to lead a great team of individuals to Haiti and share with them the work God has called us too.  It was rewarding and refreshing to serve alongside of them.  More details and pics of this trip to come. . .
